At this stage, children begin to interact more with their peers and the world around them. In these rooms we introduce circle time where we encourage children to sing along to songs, make animal noises, and learn their first words!
We also model the use of good manners and how to share with friends. Toddlers have the opportunity to explore new and exciting concepts through sensory activities, creative arts, games, and various group activities. The toddler rooms explore in multiple settings throughout the day including their classrooms, multipurpose room, and outdoor play areas. The toddlers also love to participate in the weekly Gymnastics and Music classes.
Toddlers participate in our full circle curriculum that includes a different theme every month. Every day, the children may read an entertaining, adventurous book followed by a group activity and creative artsproject. The children may also participate in a variety of activities to enhance fine and gross motor skills. When your child is ready to move out of diapers, our staff will help to make this a smooth transition.
In these classrooms, children will be encouraged to express their independence by washing their own hands, feeding themselves, using utensils, and choosing their own activities during center time.
