Inside BFA’s Collaborative Teaching Culture: Fall Curriculum Meet-Up Highlights + Activity Inspiration

At Balanced Family Academy, we believe great teaching doesn’t happen by accident, it grows from curiosity, collaboration, and a shared commitment to continuous learning. That’s why we prioritize ongoing professional development opportunities that keeps our teachers inspired, supported, and connected.

One of our favorite ways to nurture this growth is through our quarterly Curriculum Meet-Ups. These gatherings bring together teachers from across our campuses to brainstorm new ideas, share best practices, and create hands-on activities that align with the developmental needs of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Each meet-up we carry out a Creative Planning Challenge where teachers work together in teams to come up with a variety of activities that align with what we are learning about in the curriculum for the month. This November during the Fall Curriculum Meet-Up Series teachers were challenged to come up with activities that were inspired by the themes: Fall Harvest, At the Market, In the Kitchen, and Thanksgiving!

The result? A vibrant community of educators who feel valued, energized, and excited to bring fresh ideas back into their classrooms.

At BFA, professional development isn’t a box to check—it’s part of who we are. When teachers grow, children thrive, and our entire community benefits.
