Meet Our Team
Hi! My name is Katie Etheridge and I am one of the directors at the Clubhouse. I started my adventures with children over 10 years ago while obtaining a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from The Ohio State University. I have been at BFA since August of 2014, and I love watching the children grow and achieve so many milestones throughout their childhood. In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family, exploring the outdoors with our dog, and spending time with friends!
I moved to Columbus in August of 2014 when Balanced Family Academy opened. I started as the lead teacher in the Baby Bear classroom and then became a director after 6 months! I graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies with a concentration in Child Life and a minor in Psychology. I gained a lot of experience while at the Ohio University Childcare Center and Stages Early Learning Center during college and completed my Child Life internship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. I have also volunteered at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and The Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital. I have always loved working with children, and my favorite part about BFA is building relationships with all the families and providing a safe and loving environment for their children. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new restaurants in Columbus, taking my dog Jack to different parks, and visiting my family in Cleveland.
Hello! My name is Emily and I am one of the directors in the Clubhouse. I have been a part of the BFA staff since the opening day back in August 2014 and have loved every second of it! I have been working with children for over 9 years now and find happiness in helping inspire them to learn, grow, and be creative. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, furthering my education, traveling, and spending time with my friends, family, and dogs!
Hello, my name is Shannon and I am one of the directors at Balanced Family Academy’s Treehouse. I joined the BFA team at the grand opening in 2014. I have always had a passion for taking care of children and helping them learn and grow. Being able to provide memorable experiences for the children at BFA is my favorite part of every day! In my spare time, you can find me adventuring with my dog, visiting with friends, or exploring Columbus!
